We're Jason and Liz Budden, proud fifth-generation farmers raising our family on Glenroy near Chinchilla.
For us, farming has always been about more than producing great beef. It's about caring for the land, respecting our animals and continuing a family tradition we're proud to pass on to the next generation. Budden Family Beef allows us to share that passion directly with families who value knowing where their food comes from.

Jason looks after the cattle, the land and everything in between, while Liz keeps Budden Family Beef running smoothly, from customer orders to the books.

our heritage
Where it all began
The Budden family's story in the Western Downs began in 1906, when Jason's great-great-grandparents, William and Eva Budden, made the journey from Singleton in New South Wales to the Pelican district near Chinchilla.
Travelling with their dairy herd, they sold fresh milk to towns and workers along the way before establishing a mixed farming enterprise. Over the years, the family raised dairy cattle, beef cattle, sheep and pigs, laying the foundations for the farming legacy that continues today.

A passion that started young
Jason’s own journey began early. Growing up on the property, he developed a passion for cattle and farming. By primary school, he’d convinced his father to lease him land for his own small breeding herd, paying “rent” through hours worked on the farm.
That determination set the tone for his lifelong commitment to producing exceptional beef.
Bringing farm and family closer together
Budden Family Beef was born from our passion for sustainable farming, ethical production and making premium beef more accessible. By selling direct from our farm, we can share not only our beef, but also the story behind it.
We hope every meal around your table starts a conversation about where food comes from, how it's raised and the people behind it.
The next generation
Today, Jason manages the cattle and property while Liz looks after customer orders and the day-to-day running of Budden Family Beef. Alongside them, Kelsey, Sophie and Emmy are growing up with the same values that have shaped our family for generations.
Whether they're helping with the cattle, feeding the chooks or learning about life on the farm, they're already becoming part of the next chapter.
